Course marshals ensure that the Gobblers have a safe, fun race day!

Course marshals are stationed at key locations along that course to warn riders of hazards, direct riders along the course, monitor for course and rider safety, ensure fair play, motivate the athletes, and manage non-race pedestrian/bike traffic at points where race course crosses another route.

Arrival Time: 6:30 AM
Marshaling Meeting with Sheriff: 7:00 at the Starting Line
Marshals need to be in their designated areas by 7:30

Safety Yellow Shirts will be provided and must be worn on the course. Safety Yellow vests will be provided as well to wear over coats.

Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

Race Day Set Up Crew

Join the Give 'N Gobble Trot Squad for the morning!

Within an hour and a half, Holland Park and all of downtown Dickson is turned into a race course thanks to this crew!

Race Day Clean Up Crew

What goes up must come down!

We want to ensure that the Give 'N Gobble is invited back for another 10 years in Downtown Dickson. Trash collection and breaking down the race happens very quickly so we can all enjoy our Thanksgiving feasts.

Finish Line Medal & Water Bottle Distribution

A welcome sight at the Finish Line!

Volunteers are positioned at each side of the finish line – up quite a ways to catch runners as they come through. Distribute finish medals and water bottles to runners coming through the finish line.

Volunteers also insure that runners make their way back to Holland Park for the awards ceremony, that they know that they are entitled to a free Kona Ice, and to also let them know that place medals and race results are posted with QR codes and on the Race Grid provided by timer.

Race Day Food & Coffee/Hot Chocolate

The most important ingredient to the Give 'N Gobble Race Day!

The Give 'N Gobble has always provided complimentary race day fuel to our Gobblers. Food trucks will be on site, but sometimes a runner needs a little coffee to get going before the race!

Coffee is started as soon as everything is unpacked by the set up crew. Coffee and will need to be refilled and re-brewed on site. As runners finish, bananas, oranges, and granola bars will need to be restocked on the tables as well.

Packet Pick-Up

A crucial part of the race week!

Volunteers for packet pickup will serve in a customer service role to our runners in the two days leading up to the race. Experience with computers and Square are preferred. Volunteers need to commit to a whole shift for Packet Pickup - especially during lunch rush and after work hours. Volunteers can sign up for multiple shifts if desired.

Arrival Time: 9:00 AM 11/21/23 & 11/22/23

Upon arrival, we will place folded shirts in the shoe slots, and will re-supply as needed, by size. Packets with race bibs, sponsor information, safety pins, and pre-sold T-Shirts will be distributed to runners. Additional T-Shirts can be purchased via cash, check, or credit card for $15. On-site registration is also available.

Packet Pick Up will open to the public at 10:00 and go to 6:00. Lunch will be provided to volunteers.

Help Our "Last Minute-Gobblers" get on the course quickly!

Race Day packet pickup can be a hectic occasion for runners. Volunteers for packet pickup will serve in a customer service role to our runners on race day to ensure that runners that have not picked up their packets with bibs/shirts are able to get through the line quickly. New registrations will be performed through QR code for the runners, but runners that choose to pay with cash will need to be manually entered for our Race Timer, along with their correct bib number.

Training with RunSignup.com and Square is required (will be provided).

The hill at the end of College Street can be a doozie! Our Watering Station volunteers make sure that our runners are properly hydrated for the second leg of the race.

Cheer on our Gobblers!

The Give 'N Gobble is all about fun and celebrating thankfulness. We have runners of all types, and for some it's a huge accomplishment to finish the challenging 5K course. Sometimes our Gobblers need a little extra help to sprint to the finish line. That's where our cheerleaders come in! Cheer our Gobblers to the Finish Line at 4 key locations:
